The Euris (European River Information Services) portal has been updated a year after its inception to add features and enhance usability.
Launched in September 2018, it has been updated to include all important waterway and transport information from 13 European nations. User comments were used to enhance the data viewing application and improve data presentation and availability.
The site optimises search and filter options for most services and improves data visibility. Multilingual support was also enhanced. Many objects like bridges, locks, berths, and terminals now have national language names, and the search feature has been improved.
Other improvements based on end user and operator feedback include skipper notices, higher-scale geographical maps showing traffic and water level information, and better visualisation of static and actual bridge clearance heights.
Additionally, reported infrastructure working times have been clarified, calculated trip descriptions now include directional information, and data, data visualisation, and notification handling have been improved. Finally, optimisation improved performance, security, and troubleshooting.
