Urban logistics & the mobility transition: a field of tension or potential for synergies?

Scandria Alliance is openly inviting to its online Talk “Urban logistics & the mobility transition: a field of tension or potential for synergies?” to discuss the challenges and opportunities that arise for urban logistics as a result of the current mobility transition efforts. It will take place on Friday, 21 June 2024, 10:00–11:30 CEST. While the passenger mobility transformation is well underway, there persists an inadequate amount of practical, comprehensive answers to the difficulties that urban freight transport faces. Many towns and regions are currently working hard to accelerate the transition to the usage of fossil-free clean fuel cars. However, these initiatives do not address the issue of congested highways and city centres, since parcel and commercial transport volumes continue to increase.
This event will explore interesting projects in cities and regions along the Scandria Corridor that aim to reduce or replace road-based transport for urban logistics. These ideas include open multi-purpose locker systems, micro hubs, light electric cars, and urban inland shipping.
