Rhine-Alpine Talk 18 on June 6th

The Rhine-Alpine Corridor is a critical artery for European logistics, connecting major ports and industrial centres from Rotterdam to Genoa and serves as a lifeline for nearly 20% of the EU’s population. With the recent merging of the Rhine-Alpine and North Sea-Mediterranean Corridors into the North Sea – Rhine – Mediterranean Corridor (NSRM) under the revised TEN-T Regulation, stakeholders face both new opportunities and complex challenges in cross-border cooperation, data-driven planning, and multimodal integration.
This Rhine-Alpine Talk titled “Enhanced Planning and Governance for the North Sea-Rhine-Mediterranean Corridor” will give an overview of the PREPARED Targeted Analysis – a project designed to provide an evidence-based foundation for spatial and governance strategies along the corridor.

Ports of Genoa: Digital Transition with RAISE Project

Symbolic Picture by Geralt on Pixabay
The Port System Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea (ADSP) and the University of Genoa have signed a Framework Agreement to collaborate on the “RAISE – Robotics and AI for Socio-economic Empowerment” project.
The initiative aims to improve port operations’ efficiency and sustainability through technological and digital transition. The data collected will enable constant monitoring, including environmental monitoring, and the development of flexible forecasting models for future supply chain scenarios. The memorandum of understanding consolidates an existing link between AdSP and the University of Genoa and is part of the broader process of drafting new Port Regulatory Plans for Genoa and Savona-Vado.
The RAISE project, which uses the Hub&Spoke model, sees UniGe as a reference node for innovation, sustainability, and digitalization in the ports of Genoa, Savona, and Vado Ligure. The collaboration will involve the experimentation of robotic technologies and artificial intelligence solutions applied to port operations, cargo and passenger traffic management, and environmental monitoring. The results will be integrated into the design of new port infrastructures and pilot operational scenarios in Genoa and Savona.
