The 10th Anniversary Conference of the Interregional Alliance for the Rhine-Alpine Corridor EGTC, titled „The Voice of the Corridor,“ was held on April 1, 2025, at the Palais du Rhin in Strasbourg. The event celebrated a decade of transnational cooperation while addressing future challenges and opportunities for this vital European transport corridor.
The conference was opened by Lucia Luijten, Secretary General of the Central Commission for Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR), and Paolo Palamiti, Chair of the EGTC Rhine-Alpine. Keynote speeches were delivered by Paweł Wojciechowski, European Coordinator for the North Sea – Rhine – Mediterranean Corridor, Jeannette Baljeu, MEP and Former Chair of the EGTC Rhine-Alpine Corridor, and Christian Specht, Mayor of Mannheim.
The event highlighted the strategic importance of the Rhine-Alpine Corridor as part of the newly merged North Sea-Rhine-Mediterranean corridor, emphasizing its role in connecting major economic centers across Europe and facilitating cross-border trade and mobility.
The conference featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focusing on transport, economic, and multilevel governance dimensions of the corridor, concluding with a networking apéro with live music. It brought together key stakeholders to share insights into the strategic direction of the Rhine-Alpine Corridor EGTC and contribute to the future development of this essential European network.

The 2024 Annual Report of the European Inland Waterway Transport (IWT) Platform outlines strategic direction, projects, initiatives, and IWTP Committee work for a sustainable and competitive inland waterway transport sector.
The report discusses the governance, EU-funded projects, and initiatives of the IWT Platform, as well as their engagement with stakeholders. It also highlights the platform’s initiatives addressing labour market challenges and modal shift objectives. The report also highlights the significant achievements of the IWT Platform Committees in 2024, focusing on safety, technical, nautical, environmental, and social agendas.
